Nathan’s surgery

in Archives on 09/22/09

Two weeks ago Nathan had surgery to correct his deviated septum.  He had never been under general anesthesia before, and with his general disdain for all things related to hospitals this was a big deal for him!  He knows I took a before picture of him with his nurse Pam.

But I’m sure he has no idea I also took an after picture!  He was still pretty loopy when
I took this shot.

He is recovering nicely, but still has a bit of swelling and scabbing.  I am praying ever so
diligently that when he is fully healed he will no longer be a heavy snorer!  Eighteen years of
sleeping with a freight train has really taken its toll!

Ah, yes. Sleeping with a freight train. The Lord of the Manor has apnea, so my freight train stops and starts. Lovely. Every once in a while, a long silence will awaken me, and I have to poke him to get him breathing again. And the dear man wonders why I’m often tired in the morning! But sooner the noise than a silent bed.

Agreed!!  When hubby is gone I even miss the snoring.  Of course the surgery didn’t help that issue, so it’s still kind of loud around here.  He has a CPAP machine for apnea, but opts not to use it very often because of the dryness it causes.  Thanks for stopping by!!
