Politics

in Archives on 05/03/08

Last night Bill Clinton put in an appearance in our little Indiana town.  It’s a pretty big deal to have a former president in your backyard whether you agree with his politics or not.  We had company for dinner but I told the kids that if they wanted to get their friends together and go to the high school to see him, they could. They opted to hang out here at the house instead.

Yesterday one of our two local papers detailed that the school gymnasium holds a capacity of 1100 people. So, this morning I was reading the papers and I noticed that the conservative paper reported that “just over 500 people showed up” while the liberal paper reported that “750 people packed the gymnasium.”

I just thought it was interesting, and a little humorous, that political views can skew even the most basic of news reports.
