Hudson’s first birthday

in Archives on 01/05/09

Hudson Charles turned one on December 28th. One of our favorite family traditions is letting our children play in their first birthday cake.  Of five kids who have done this, Hudson was the first to completely demolish the cake so that no one else could eat it!  Fortunately, we had another on stand-by.

“I’m not sure I’m allowed to have this, so I’ll just poke it with my fingers.”

“Maybe I’ll taste just a little bit.”

“I can’t believe one is telling me NO!”

“Alrighty then!  I’ll just dig right in!”

“It just tastes so good on my lips!” (Will Ferrell)

Phoebe looks on with amusement.

“This is the best thing ever!”

“See how cute I am covered in chocolate?”

“I think I have a belly ache.”

Time for presents!

All tuckered out from his big party.

Now that’s my kind of party! Why did I find myself longing for a cake in front of me that I could demolish (and devour!)? I shouldn’t read blogs like this when I’m hungry.

Where did that boy get those cheeks? Makes me want to pinch em.

Me too, my dear!!  I have been checking your blog every day.  I’m more faithful to it than to my own!
